The Total Truth About Breakfast Cereals By Laurie Beebe

I see another commercial for Total cereal. They showed Nutrition Facts panel, a list of all the vitamins in the product 100%. The announcer declared at the end of the commercial: "Kashi cereal do not have 100% of the daily value for all the vitamins.
I take issue with this ad: They certainly implying Total cereal is healthier than other cereals - Kashi in this case - they have 100% of many vitamins and minerals. And that's not true.
True, there is no longer serve in Total vitamins than other cereals. But this is not fantastic because Total is some grain that is very unique and full of vitamins and minerals that naturally contain all that is required for all day! This is because the manufacturers of vitamins added to cereal. In other words, you can eat bowls of ice flakes for breakfast, take a multivitamin, and ended with the Feed the nutrition in food as a bowl of Total. Okay, maybe not frosted flakes, as has at least a few grams of fiber Total ... maybe frosted mini-Wheats, or Grape Nuts, or Post Raisin Bran, or Kashi.
Nutrition is not only issue enough vitamins and minerals. It's about different types of food to eat to get the various nutrients (Feed while maintaining reasonable enough to maintain your ideal body weight). Eating vegetables from the Total is not a choice of healthy food and a different brand of cereal comment multivitamin. This is better than not have a hot breakfast of eggs and bread, and then take a multivitamin. This is, in fact, the same, because the decision of Total added together with a multivitamin their cereal.
Taking a multivitamin is not a bad idea, especially if you know you can not get enough for fruits, vegetables, milk, or whole grains regularly. But does not guarantee that you will be well-nourished: Only less likely to get a lack of vitamins or minerals.
There also could be a downside for the highly fortified food. How many people do you think the limit of their cereal Feed the recommended serving size for? Most people I know, including at least two or three 'serving size' from the label on the box, as one of their servings in the bowl! This means that people who eat large bowls of the total will probably get 300% of the daily value of many vitamins. Then, of course, they take in the natural vitamins in the food they eat during the rest of the day. Most of the time, get 200% - 500% or even - of the daily nutritional value that is not dangerous, but there are cases where to get "too many good things" that can cause problems: particularly with fat soluble vitamin, folic acid (in Sals people with vitamin B12 deficiency), and some minerals. People rarely 'overdose' on vitamins from natural food sources, but to take extra vitamins in the form of tablets (or added as a food in the citadel, as well as with Total) can produce enough consistently taken during the period of time.
The best way to get vitamins and minerals, of course, is to eat a balanced diet and good nutrition, including the food source is - what we call 'nutrient dense' food. Fortified foods can be misleading when applied to consumers that the food is a superior source of nutrition.
