Vintage Recipes For Delicious Gift Breads - Banana Walnut Bread and Rhubarb Bread By Linda Carol Wilson

One of the great things about a grandmother's house is always the option for a delicious treat found in the kitchen. Is it time to eat, or we just want a snack, something is always delicious. And one of the "always available" item is bread. Grandma cooked on an old cast iron wood stove to warm the section. There are always Breads and biscuits in the warm. Here are some sweet Breads vintage collection of recipes that remind me of a grandmother. Banana Walnut and Rhubarb Breads are both tasty treat you have to share with family and friends. They will love you for it Breads and really easy.

VINTAGE WALNUT BANANA BREAD

1 cup sugar

1 / 2 cup oil

2 tbsp milk

1 tbsp vinegar

1 cup chopped walnuts

3 crushed very ripe banana

1 / 4 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon soda

2 cups flour

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Combine all ingredients and cooked in a greased pan for 50 to 60 minutes.

Rhubarb BREAD

3 / 4 cup white sugar

3 / 4 cup brown sugar

2 / 3 cup vegetable oil

1 egg

1 cup sour milk *

1 tsp salt

1 teaspoon soda

1 tsp vanilla

2 1 / 2 cups flour

1 1 / 2 cup diced rhubarb

1 / 2 cup chopped nuts

Preheat oven to 325 degrees.

Mixed materials in the order listed above. Mix well and pour into two greased loaf pans and sprinkle over batter mix 1 / 2 cup sugar, 1 tablespoon butter and 1 / 2 teaspoon cinnamon. Bake at 325 degrees for 60 minutes. Freezes well. 2 to make bread.

* Sour milk curds. If you do not have buttermilk on hand, you can substitute 1 cup regular milk with 1 tablespoon lemon juice and vinegar, or in mixed
