2 cups flour

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Combine all ingredients and cooked in a greased pan for 50 to 60 minutes.

Rhubarb BREAD

3 / 4 cup white sugar

3 / 4 cup brown sugar

2 / 3 cup vegetable oil

1 egg

1 cup sour milk *

1 tsp salt

1 teaspoon soda

1 tsp vanilla

2 1 / 2 cups flour

1 1 / 2 cup diced rhubarb

1 / 2 cup chopped nuts

Preheat oven to 325 degrees.

Mixed materials in the order listed above. Mix well and pour into two greased loaf pans and sprinkle over batter mix 1 / 2 cup sugar, 1 tablespoon butter and 1 / 2 teaspoon cinnamon. Bake at 325 degrees for 60 minutes. Freezes well. 2 to make bread.

Cover and let rise in a warm place until double, 50 to 60 minutes. Punch down, apparently on the floured surface and divide the half-light. Cover and let rest 10 minutes. Form into two loaves and place in greaded 9-inch loaf pans. Let rise again until almost doubled, about 30 minutes. Bake in oven 375 degrees for 45 minutes or until done. (Cap loosely with foil after the first 25 minutes if the bread browns rapidly.) Remove from the pans. Cool on rack.

ANADAMA BREAD

4 1 / 2 to 4 3 / 4 cups all-purpose flour

2 pkgs active dry yeast

2 cup cold water

1 cup cornmeal

1 / 2 cup molasses

1 / 3 cup lard

1 tbsp salt

2 eggs

2 tbsp butter, melted

Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
In large mixing bowl, mix 1 cup of flour and yeast. In saucepan, mix water and cornmeal, cooking and stir until thickened and bubbly. Remove from heat, stir in molasses, lard and salt. Cool until just warm (115-120 degrees). Add cornmeal mixture to the flour mixture and add egg. Beat on low speed of electric mixer for about 1 / 2 minutes, Scraping the bottom of the bowl. Beat 3 minutes at high speed. By hand, stir in enough remaining flour to make a moderately stiff dough. Light turns on floured board, knead until smooth (8-10 minutes). Place in greased bowl, turning once to grease surface. Cover and let double risetill (about 1hour). Punch down dough, divide in half. Cover and let rest 10 minutes. Form into two loaves and place in greased 8 1 / 2 x 4 1 / 2 x 2 1/2-inch loaf pans. Cover and let rise until almost doubled (about 45 minutes). Brush with butter. Bake at 375 degrees for 20 minutes, cover with foil. Bake 20 minutes.

It's hard to find simple snacks after school for children. This
cereal bar recipes easy to make and is made up of children

Rice Krispies treats

2 / 3 c. butter 1 pkg. (10 oz., Around 40) large marshmallows or 4 c. miniature
marshmallows 6 c. Kellogg's Rice Krispies cereal

Melt butter in large saucepan over low heat. And add marshmallows
stir until completely melted. Remove from heat. Stir in cereal
until well coated. Press mixture into buttered 13x9x2-inch baking
meal. Cut into squares.

Variations: Instead of Rice Krispies, Cocoa Krispies use, Lucky
Attraction, or Fruity Pebbles.

Peanut treat: Add 1 cup salted peanuts with cereal.

Peanut Butter treat: Stir 1 / 4 cup peanut butter into marshmallow
mixture before adding cereal.

Gummy Worm Marshmallow Bars: Add 1 c. gummy worms, cut half,
when active in cereal.

Captain Crunch Peanut Butter Cookies

2 c. Captain Crunch peanut butter cereal 2 c. Rice Krispies 1-1/2 pounds white almond bark 2 c. 2 c. salted peanuts colored marshmallows

Melt almond bark and marshmallows in a saucepan over low heat and
pour over cereals and peanuts. Drop by spoonfuls on wax paper
or to include in the 9x13-inch (buttered) into the pot and cut the box.

Special K Bars

1 / 2 c. light Karo syrup 1 / 2 c. sugar 3 / 4 c. 3 c. nuts Special K cereal

Old-Time Breads Recipes - Chocolate Chip and Molasses Oatmeal By Linda Carol Wilson

Here are some bread recipe from my late mother's recipe canister. They are great recipes, especially for anyone who loves to cook "the old-fashion" way. Chocolate Chip Bread which is a favorite of the weak and the perfect lunch box for them. Oatmeal Bread molasses is a great bread for those who try to eat healthy food.

CHOCOLATE CHIP BREAD

1 pkg choc. chips, broken
1 / 2 cup chopped nuts
2 / 3 cup butter
1 cup sugar
2 cups sifted flour
2 1 / 2 tsp baking powder
1 / 2 tsp salt
2 / 3 cup milk
3 eggs
1 tsp vanilla

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Beat butter with sugar until soft. Add eggs and beat into sugar mixture. Mix together flour, baking powder, salt, combine the milk and vanilla. Combine with the flour mixture and add milk mixture to sugar mixture. Fold in chocolate chips and nuts. Bake one hour in two greased bread pans.

Oatmeal molasses BREAD

2 cups dry oatmeal
4 cups boiling water
1 / 2 cup molasses
1 / 2 cup soft butter
1 / 2 cup brown sugar
1 / 2 cup raisins
3 tsp salt
2 pkgs dry yeast in 1 / 2 cup warm water
5 cups flour
6 - 7 cups flour

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Combine oatmeal and water, let stand 1 hour until cold. Add next 7 ingredients, mix well and let rise. Add remainder of flour and knead well. Let rise again, in the form of bread and let rise until light. Bake at 350 degrees about 45 minutes. Makes 3 large or 4 medium bread. This bread freezes well. Can also make into rolls.

Since this bread freezes well, is a good idea to make a few loaves of bread and the rest is used to make dough rolls. Put rolls in the cabinet and for urgent or if you are in a hurry.

Cool in pan on wire rack for ten minutes, remove from pan and cool completely on rack. Makes one loaf of bread. NOTES : Diabetics can enjoy this bread by replacing 1 cup of sugar with Splenda details.

DATE-WALNUT BREAD Loaf

1 cup chopped dates
1 cup boiling water

1 tbsp vegetable oil
1 cup packed brown sugar

1 egg

1 tsp vanilla extract
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 / 4 teaspoon salt
1 cup chopped walnuts

In a mixing bowl, combine dates, water and oil. Let stand for 10 minutes; not drain. Add sugar, eggs and vanilla, mix well. In another bowl, combine flour, baking soda, and salt. Stir the mixture into the flour mixture until just combined. Do not beat. Fold in walnuts. Transfer the dough into greased 8-inch loaf pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 60-65 minutes or until golden brown and toothpick inserted near the center out clean. Cool ten minutes before removing from pan. Finish cooling on wire rack.

The Total Truth About Breakfast Cereals By Laurie Beebe

I see another commercial for Total cereal. They showed Nutrition Facts panel, a list of all the vitamins in the product 100%. The announcer declared at the end of the commercial: "Kashi cereal do not have 100% of the daily value for all the vitamins.

I take issue with this ad: They certainly implying Total cereal is healthier than other cereals - Kashi in this case - they have 100% of many vitamins and minerals. And that's not true.

True, there is no longer serve in Total vitamins than other cereals. But this is not fantastic because Total is some grain that is very unique and full of vitamins and minerals that naturally contain all that is required for all day! This is because the manufacturers of vitamins added to cereal. In other words, you can eat bowls of ice flakes for breakfast, take a multivitamin, and ended with the Feed the nutrition in food as a bowl of Total. The healthiest breakfast cereal is whole grain. If you try to lose weight, control cholesterol or diabetes, or just need a lot of energy, your best bet is hot cooked cereal of whole grains such as oatmeal. You can also cook barley, brown rice or wheat berries, and serve them as oatmeal - season them with cinnamon or raisins.

If you prefer cold cereal, you need to check the list of ingredients carefully. FIRST material that should be a whole grain. Then scan through the entire list and if you see the words "partially hydrogenated," put the box back in the rack. You should avoid foods with partially hydrogenated oil (or "trans Fats"), and they appear in the alarming number of cereal brands (see list below.)

If you `ve been to the grocery store lately you may be aware that there are new trends that occur with breakfast cereals. Many of your favorite cereals have to switch to whole grain wheat as the main material. Cereals Is this good for you or the other is only a gimmick used by companies to sell more of their products? I will describe some of the positive and negative associated with the "healthy cereals" You just eat. I will also give you some examples from a variety of marketing techniques used by the cereal manufactures to sell more of their products to consumers.

In the last few years, cold cereal has given a reputation that is not healthy. Since most cereals contain a high amount of sugar, most bodybuilders try to keep themselves from some reason. Sugar can make you hungry and you could end up eating more of the body requires. He is also regarded as high G.I. carb source that you can quickly spike insulin levels, so that your body feel low on energy. Now the cereal companies have to switch to whole wheat, if it leaves you wonder `s actually a good part of the training` s diet.

Many cereals such as frosted Mini Wheats, and Wheaties have been around for many years. Most of the cereals also contain a decent amount of fiber that helps digestion and also make you feel full quickly. They say that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Well, if that's true, some breakfast cereal manufacturers need to get on the stick, at least according to most nutritionists. We will see some of what is available to the typical family.

Oh, there are exceptions, but you really need to find them as the most common is pretty much breakfast cereals marketed to children. If you have been watching TV since the 1960s to be sure you hear Tony The Tiger scream, "They're Great!" He, of course, talking about Kellogg's Sugar frosted flakes. This is one of the cereal that can send children into sugar stroke without even blinking an eye. This is not surprising that children will be hyper at the school throughout the day.
